OF YOUR MUSIC STAYS YOURS
Artists retain ownership of their recordings.
We believe independent artists deserve the same opportunities to release physical music as major-label artists, without the financial barriers or industry gatekeeping.
Astine is built on a simple idea: great music deserves to exist beyond a streaming platform.
We're not here to take control of your music. We're here to help bring it to life, build something worth collecting, and make sure you share in its success.
The proposed model splits defined release profits equally between you and Astine. Here’s an interactive example.
Illustrative release100 records × $34.99
Product revenue
$3,499.00
Manufacturing
–$1,266.00
Illustrative profit
$2,233.00
These numbers are estimates, not a quote or a guarantee. Do not rely on this figure. They were calculated for standard black records in a full-color jacket with unprinted inner sleeves, no inserts, plus a barcode and sticker. Other configurations will change the cost. This example assumes every copy sells at $34.99, excludes sales taxes, and treats shipping revenue and fulfillment expenses as separate from the 50/50 split. Manufacturing is deducted from eligible product revenue before the equal division. Actual payments follow the signed contract.
You own your masters. That doesn’t change.
Do I have to pay anything upfront?
For approved releases under the proposed partnership model, Astine funds manufacturing without an upfront artist manufacturing deposit. Any other responsibilities or costs must be expressly agreed in the signed contract.
How does the 50/50 profit split work?
The proposed model deducts manufacturing costs from eligible product revenue, then divides defined release profits equally between the artist and Astine. Shipping, fulfillment, taxes, refunds, and any other adjustments must be addressed explicitly in the agreement. It is a share of defined profit, not gross sales.
Who owns the master recordings?
You retain ownership of your master recordings. Astine receives only the permissions specified in the vinyl license. You must control or obtain the necessary rights before licensing the music.
Can I release vinyl through another company?
The proposed arrangement allows you to work with other partners, subject to your existing contracts and any limitations expressly agreed with Astine. Review those obligations before committing a release elsewhere.
Who decides what the record looks like?
Creative decisions are collaborative. Pressing configuration, artwork, packaging, and the agreed approval process are settled together. You approve the agreed creative elements before production.
What happens if the release doesn’t sell out?
There is no guaranteed sellout or payout amount. Astine manages the inventory, and accounting follows actual eligible sales and the signed agreement. How unsold stock, returns, discounts, or a release’s end are handled must be defined in that agreement.
Can Astine repress my music?
The proposed agreement can allow future represses, restocks, and new variants without a completely new contract each time. The licensed scope, term, and any approval requirements must be clearly agreed. Your agreed 50/50 share continues on eligible future pressings.
When and how do I get paid?
Payment timing, method, reporting periods, and any thresholds are set out in the signed contract. Artist payouts are supported by transparent sales statements.
How many copies will be pressed?
Pressing quantities are agreed for each project based on the release plan, audience, demand, and production considerations. There is no universal minimum or guaranteed quantity stated here.
Does Astine handle international orders?
Astine manages worldwide shipping and customer support. Available destinations, delivery charges, customs duties, and any restrictions are confirmed through the storefront and applicable shipping policies.
